Use only the official DigiLocker website or the app published by the authorised government developer. DrivingLicenceDownload.net does not request DigiLocker passwords, PINs, Aadhaar details or OTPs.

- A DigiLocker account you can access

- Complete driving licence number
- Name and date of birth that match the source record closely enough for retrieval
- Correct transport issuer when more than one is shown
The mobile number used to access DigiLocker and the number stored in an older transport record can be separate account/data attributes. Follow the verification requested by DigiLocker and update the transport record separately when needed.
How to Add a Driving Licence to DigiLocker
- Open the official DigiLocker website or app.
- Sign in or register through the official identity flow.
- Open Search Documents, Browse Documents or the current equivalent.
- Search for Driving Licence.
- Select the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways or the issuer that holds the record.
- Enter the complete DL number and other requested identity details.
- Review the consent request.
- Select Get Document or the equivalent action.
- Open the fetched record under Issued Documents.
- Use the available view, share, print or save option.
Interface labels can change. The important relationship is: user selects an issuer, provides the licence identifier, consents to retrieval and receives the issuer-provided record in Issued Documents.

Uploading a photograph of the physical card does not make it the same as a fetched driving licence.

How to Save the DigiLocker DL as a PDF
Open the issued record and use the download, share or print control provided by the current DigiLocker interface. If a conventional PDF download is not presented, use the document inside DigiLocker rather than taking an edited screenshot.
Do not upload the issued file to an unknown PDF website. It contains personal and verifiable information.

Why DigiLocker Cannot Find the Driving Licence
DL-number format mismatch
Enter the complete number associated with the source record. Compare state prefix, RTO code, issue year, leading zeroes, spaces and hyphens.
Name mismatch
Differences in surname order, initials, spelling, spacing or expanded names can prevent identity matching. Compare the DL source record with the identity attached to the DigiLocker account.
DOB mismatch
The DOB in the source transport record must support the issuer's validation. Correct Aadhaar data does not automatically repair an incorrect DL record.
Wrong issuer selected
Search results may include MoRTH and state-specific issuers. Select the issuer corresponding to the record.
Old record is not digitised
An older paper/booklet licence may not be available to the connected issuer. Contact the issuing RTO about digitisation or backlog entry.
Licence is newly approved
The application can be approved before the issuer record becomes available in DigiLocker. Confirm licence-number generation and try again after the source update.
Name or DOB Mismatch: What to Correct
Correct the system containing the wrong information. Do not repeatedly create DigiLocker accounts or change a correct identity record merely to bypass an error.
- If the DL record is wrong, use the transport correction service.
- If the DigiLocker/Aadhaar-linked identity is wrong, follow the authorised identity-update process.
- If both are correct but fetching fails, save the error screenshot and contact official DigiLocker support.
Is the DigiLocker Driving Licence Valid?
Government guidance recognises electronic DL and RC records available through DigiLocker or mParivahan under the applicable electronic-document framework. The record should be issuer-fetched and verifiable; a manually uploaded scan has different provenance.
How to Verify the QR Code
- Open the official DigiLocker verification service.
- Choose the QR scan option.
- Allow camera access if required.
- Scan the QR code on the issued document.
- Compare the verification result with the displayed document.
If the QR is damaged or unreadable, fetch a fresh issuer document instead of modifying the code.

Can I fetch an old driving licence?
Only if the source record is digitised and available to the selected issuer. Otherwise, contact the issuing RTO.
What if the DL is linked to an old mobile number?
First separate DigiLocker account access from the transport record's mobile field. Sign in through the authorised DigiLocker flow and enter the requested DL details. Use the official Sarathi mobile-update service if the transport record also needs updating.
Is a screenshot the same as an issued DigiLocker DL?
No. A screenshot does not preserve the same in-app provenance and verification experience as the issued document.
