What Can Actually Differ by State?
- Whether Print Driving Licence or DL Extract is exposed
- Whether a service is faceless or requires an RTO visit
- Accepted document categories and upload flow
- Appointment/test method and language
- Fee/user/card/postal components
- Physical-card printing and delivery tracking
- Treatment of legacy records that have not migrated to Sarathi
- Exact menu names, identifiers and grievance contacts
A state page should document one or more of these differences with screenshots and official links. Replacing only the state name creates doorway-style duplication and weakens the whole topical map.
If the State Is Wrong or the Record Is Missing
- Confirm the issuing state from the physical card, receipt or official message.
- Check the DL/application number format and DOB.
- Use application status for pending transactions and DL status for issued records.
- Ask the issuing RTO about old-record digitisation.
- Use address change/record migration guidance when you have moved.
- Do not submit a new licence application simply to make an old record appear.
