How to Track Renewal or Duplicate-DL Applications
Use the same application-status route, but enter the application number generated for that specific service. The original DL number identifies the licence; the new application number identifies the renewal or duplicate transaction.
If the transaction is approved but the updated document is unavailable, check whether the source record has been updated before trying to fetch it through DigiLocker or mParivahan.

Why Is the Application Pending at RTO Level?
“Pending at RTO level” normally means authority action remains. Possible reasons include:
- Document scrutiny has not been completed
- A document was rejected and needs re-uploading
- Test or biometric results have not been updated
- Approval is awaiting an authorised officer
- A previous transaction conflicts with the current application
- Printing or record generation is delayed
First confirm that the applicant has no pending upload, payment, appointment or test. If no action is shown and the status does not change for an unreasonable period, contact the concerned RTO with the application acknowledgement.
Old or Cancelled Application Still Appearing
Do not create repeated applications to clear an old record. Save evidence that the old transaction was withdrawn or cancelled and contact the concerned RTO if it prevents a valid service. Backend record conflicts usually cannot be repaired by changing browser, clearing cache or creating another DigiLocker account.
Application Not Found
Check the following in order:
- Correct state selected
- Complete application number
- Correct DOB
- Application belongs to Sarathi rather than a separate legacy state system
- Application was not submitted under another transaction number
- Temporary portal availability
