How to Pay a DL Fee
- Open Sarathi and select the concerned state.
- Continue the relevant application or open Fee Payments.
- Use the application number and DOB where requested.
- Review the service description and amount.
- Pay only through the official payment flow.
- Record the application number, transaction reference and bank reference.
- Download or print the receipt.
Do not transfer money to a personal UPI ID because someone promises faster approval. A fee pays for a process; it does not guarantee a licence or a passing test result.
How to Download the Payment Receipt
Try these official routes after selecting the state:
- Fee Payments → Print Receipt or equivalent
- Application Status → Print Acknowledgement/Receipt

Payment Debited but Status Is Pending
- Do not pay again immediately.
- Save the bank debit record and transaction reference.
- Use the Sarathi payment-status or verify-payment option.
- Allow the stated reconciliation period.
- Retry only through the official failed-payment workflow.
- Raise a grievance with the state/Sarathi support and payment provider if the status remains unresolved.
Multiple attempts can create duplicate debits without speeding the application.
Slot or Appointment Receipt
The payment receipt proves a transaction; the appointment acknowledgement proves a booked slot. Download the appointment slip through the appointment or application-status route. Keep both when the RTO instructions ask for them.
Refunds and Failed Transactions
Refund eligibility and timing depend on whether the transaction failed, was duplicated, or was successfully credited to a government service. Preserve:
- Application number
- Transaction and bank reference
- Date, amount and payment method
- Screenshot/PDF of the official status
- Bank statement entry
